1923 - 2017
LLOYD SPEIGHTS Lloyd Speights passed away Oct. 10th in his care home in San Ramon at 94. Born in Texas 9-28-1923, he was 5 of 10 children. His father was a share cropper so moved a lot. His mother lived to 101.
He learned that work was a part of life. Never eat better or work not as hard as in the Marines which he joined at 18. He meet the love of his life, Luceal, while in Boston in the Marines.
She waited 'til he got discharged 2 years later. They married and settled in Calif. Lloyd became a sheet metal worker and raised their two sons, David & George, in the bay area. Lloyd loved fishing so getting close to retirement, he & some friends moved to Magalia.
Lloyd had a green thumb, so lots of flowers & a beautiful yard. Luceal & son Dave preceded him to the pearly gates and are waiting for him. Lloyd was active in Elks, Moose, VFW firing squad, SIR's R.V. Joan Teats, wife #2 of 15 years, will miss him very, very much. He was the love of my life.
There will be graveside services at 11:00 A.M. at Glen Oak Memorial Park, Wednesday, October 18.
